Your in-between-partying-shopping-guide

Got some energy left after all those nights out and in need of some serious shopping? A couple of cool additions to your wardrobe maybe, reminding you about that awesome time you’ve had in Amsterdam? Follow the shortlist below and stroll all the noteworthy shopping streets to experience the city at daytime while getting rid of some extra cash in a completely worthy way.



One of Amsterdam’s coolest concept stores consists of a two-floor walhalla for everything from interior gadgets to the latest in scandinavian design clothing. After some serious shopping there’s room for cocktails or a bite too as HUTSPOT has an in-store lunchroom and bar to complete the concept in the hippest possible way.



So there it is again; the perfect combination of eating, shopping and some more eating. This cosy cafe is the perfect stop for a well-deserved, mouthwatering (late) breakfast or lunch. Be prepared to fight for your spot though as seats are scarce and crowds aren’t. It’s worth the wait though because nothing tastes better than homemade salads, sandwiches or freshly baked breakfast goodies after a night of party highlights. Oh and then there’s the coffee, which tastes as good as the interior looks. Don’t forget to grab some pastries to savour ‘on the road’ and make sure to keep an eye on all items you spot as (almost) everything’s on sale. Did we mention that Pluk is located in the ‘9 streets’? One of the best shopping areas in Amsterdam.

Okay so you love vintage. And you love a broad range of options (hey, who doesn’t).  Episode is your go-to destination then. You’ll find one in the ‘9 straatjes’ (again, this is a really cool area  :-)) and another one at the ‘Waterlooplein’. Make sure to take all the time you need browsing through all those racks of secondhand goodies as these shops definitely boasts the best hidden vintage gems. Most of the items on sale date back to the 70’s and 80’s and many of these items have a precious ’je ne sais quoi’ air over them. The perfect way to upgrade any party outfit!



Located near the hustle and bustle of the Rembrandt Square, you’ll find the Utrechtsestraat. In the midst of the most beautiful canals and caters to both the high-end as well as less high-end shopper. Both designer boutiques and contemporary stores dot this eclectic shopping street and even if you just grab a cup of coffee, it’s one of the most agreeable locations to wander around and spend an afternoon.



If you’re in search of some advice on the city of Amsterdam in general or completely forgot to buy your friends and family at home some souvenirs, the I AMSTERDAM store located in Central Station is the absolute one-stop-shop. Its proposition ranges from Amsterdam based designer brands to more mainstream iconic items. Jar of pickles, anyone?
