And the winners are...

What a start to the week! The AMF Official Opening had a spectacular red carpet event with more winners than ever before. There was no arguing on the new #1 DJ – a clear cut, fresh winner: Martin Garrix! He was born in ’96, and we’d say getting crowned #1 isn’t a bad way to celebrate your twentieth year on the planet! Last year’s number one, Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike have made space by moving to #2, and this year’s #3 of the world is Hardwell.

There were eleven new award categories this year, each honouring a specific talent or style. The DJ Mag Awards celebrated newcomers like Marshmello (Highest New Entry) and Swanky Tunes (Highest Climber) to long-time favourites like Carl Cox (Highest Techno). To balance out the double trouble masculine presence of Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike (Highest Group), we have the two ladies from Nervo as the Highest Ranked Female DJ. And for varying styles, DJ Mag Awards 2016 brought forth the following winners: Netsky (Highest Drum & Bass); Angerfist (Highest Hard); Skrillex (Highest Bass); and Oliver Heldens (Highest House). Some, however, don’t fit into one category. This Audi #UNTAGGABLE Award went to Don Diablo. And two last, but definitely not least, category winners are KSHMR for Highest Live Act and The Chainsmokers for Highest Re-Entry.

Over 1 million fans from all over the world voted for the winners, and it showed their incredible devotion. Thank you, thank you, and congratulations again to Martin Garrix!
