The fourth edition of AMF blew everything that was ever done before completely out of the water. AMF expanded and did no less than 9 events.
The Heineken Music Hall and the Ziggo Dome became part of five days of absolute mayhem.
The festivities kicked off with the DJ Mag Top 100 award show in the Heineken Music Hall on Wednesday. Martin Garrix confirmed his status as crown prince of EDM on the red carpet event, finishing above Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and Hardwell. The new #1 of the world took to the stage together with other prize winners and they started the week off in style.
It was Hardwell's time to shine on Thursday. The Dutch superstar had the sold out Heineken Music Hall all to himself. The former #1 of the DJ Mag Top 100 proved why he's been on top of the DJ scene for the past years.
On Friday the Ziggo Dome was completely packed for another Dutch DJ legend. Tiësto, accompanied by Mike Williams, took everyone on a trip through time. With classics from his early days, to his more recent hits. Seemingly effortless he made time (and his audience) fly, until another epic night had come to an end.
Saturday the 22nd of October 2016 was an absolute landmark for AMF and Dutch dance music. In three venues, AMF hosted three different parties, from 1 pm until five in the morning. The day started in the Amsterdam ArenA with the biggest DJs on one stage. The first ever daytime AMF event brought thousands of dance enthusiasts to the ArenA and went on until midnight.
One of the most iconic DJ duos ever took the stage in spectacular fashion in the Heineken Music Hall afterwards. Axwell Λ Ingrosso gave everyone what they were expecting. And more. From the moment they rose through the stage to make their appearance until they stepped off the stage. The duo put together a music show with lasers and visuals that's second to none. In the meantime, the Ziggo Dome was crowded with people who were in for the long haul. The SLAM! Mixmarathon asked a 100% energy from everyone. DJs ánd audience brought their A-game and it was a spectacular night.
Sunday meant that even this week had come to an end. For the second day in a row, a star-studded line-up couldn't wait to blow the roof of the Amsterdam ArenA, with thousands of ecstatic fans in front of them. The week was closed in style in the Heineken Music Hall with the official afterparty.
A historic week leaving crew, visitors and DJs in awe. We can't wait until the 2017 edition of the Amsterdam Music Festival.
