Your main reason to visit Amsterdam in October is AMF (obviously, duh). However, before and after you have showed your legendary dance moves to the rest of the AMF visitors, you and your friends will have time to do some sight seeing. Amsterdam has an ongoing clubbing scene. However, Amsterdam is so much more. Therefore, we are sharing our personal highlights the upcoming weeks and we’re starting with the Amsterdam-Noord district.

A perfect getaway from the beautiful but crowded Amsterdam city centre. This rustic part of town is only 10 minutes away from the bustling city life. Take the ferry (free of charge) to upcoming district Amsterdam-Noord. It is an excellent place to hangout before the AMF madness starts or to relax.

Everything is great here in, Amsterdam. But nobody is perfect, and the same goes for Amsterdam. Unfortunately, not every city is blessed with a beach. ‘Luckily, ‘PLLEK’ took care of that problem. It is easy to reach. Just take the ferry to the, NDSM-Werf. Besides a beach they also have an awesome indoor venue to chill, including an even more awesome pillow corner.

Address: Tt. Neveritaweg 59, Amsterdam

This is the easiest place to reach in Amsterdam-Noord. You can even see it while you are on the other side of the water (at Amsterdam Central Station). ‘De Tolhuistuin’ has a really nice terrace. When you are lucky you can catch the last sunbeams of the year, while you are sipping your hot chocolate and have a table full of delicious food (NL eten benoemen?) in front of you.

Overhoeksplein 1, Amsterdam

A'DAM Tower

Visible from even the far corners of other Amsterdam districts and nearby De Tolhuistuin, you will find one of the newest hotspots in town: the A’DAM Tower. Climb to the top of this tower and enjoy an amazing view (and Europe’s Highest Swing, hell yeah!). You’ll love it, we promise.

Skatepark Noord and Skatecafe Amsterdam

If you are a skateboard fan, you are going to like this. Skatepark Noord is an awesome park to show your skills. A few weeks ago rap superstar Lil'Wayne visited this place. He is a fan! Check out the video he made!

Address:  Gedempt Hamerkanaal 42, Amsterdam

We can understand if you want to chill after AMF and just like to experience the vibe of being surrounded by skate boarders. Therefore, you could also visit Skatecafe Amsterdam. They have enough drinks and food. We love the place.

Address: Aambeeldstraat 12, Amsterdam
